26 Sep8th Grades English Exhibition: The Inventions Fair
Today the annual 8th Grade Inventions Fair Exhibition was held at the heart of the Mackay School in Patio de la Roca. During the exhibition there were two rounds of presentations in each stand for parents to observe. Among the audience were also teachers, administrators, and juniors. In particular, the kids were going from one stand to another at a quick pace due to their interest on every invention. Parents were fairly delighted as well. Several of the inventions that were presented were the following: self-cleaning shoes (CSFLP), a bag pulley, instant security doors (ASB), Eco Filter, Zorro Bag, and many more. In total there were 18 inventions! Almost all were done in groups while also applying MYP concepts as guidance for their projects. All and all, the event was a success for students and many who witnessed came away impressed by it all. Well done, boys!
Hoy, la exhibición de inglés de los alumnos de 8vo Básico “Inventions Fair” se llevó a cabo en el Patio de la Roca en el corazón de nuestro colegio. Durante la exhibición hubo dos rondas de presentaciones donde los alumnos expusieron su proceso de diseño, que incluyó la búsqueda de soluciones a problemáticas que afectan a su comunidad. Entre la audiencia hubo apoderados, profesores, administradores y alumnos del área Junior. Los asistentes se movieron de un stand a otro rápidamente debido a su interés en cada invención. Los apoderados se mostraron encantados también con las presentaciones. Algunos de los inventos que se presentaron fueron: self-cleaning shoes (CSFLP), a bag pulley, instant security doors (ASB), Eco Filter, Zorro Bag y muchos más. ¡En total hubo 18 inventos! Casi todos se realizaron en grupos y al mismo tiempo se aplicaron los conceptos del Programa de Años Intermedios del IB como orientación para sus proyectos. En general, el evento fue un éxito para los alumnos y muchos de los que asistieron quedaron impresionados con el nivel demostrado por los estudiantes. Well done, boys!
