ABSCH Drama Festival 2018: ¡Una explosión de teatralidad!

El viernes 17 de agosto se realizó el Drama Festival ABSCH en el Colegio Dunalastair Valle Norte. Fue una mañana seca y fría en la que los estudiantes (de al menos entre otros 8 colegios Británicos) llegaban para participar de un día lleno de divertidas actividades. Los talleres incluidos en el festival fueron: radio, físico, payaso, pantomima, musical y teatro de máscaras. Los estudiantes se dividieron en talleres separados con el objetivo de retratar una escena específica del libro de John Steinbeck “Of Mice and Men”, en idioma inglés. José Pedro Jeria (radio), Anton Little (musical), Luciano Zapata y Franco Peri (payaso) disfrutaron inmensamente de su tiempo. En general, se notó que todos los alumnos estaban completamente comprometidos con sus instructores. El evento fue un mundo donde pudieron elegir cómo expresarse de maneras que sólo pocos pueden entender y escapar de las rutinas de la sociedad. Un gran agradecimiento a todos los instructores de drama que realmente pusieron su corazón y alma en enseñar a nuestros alumnos. ¡Definitivamente los frutos de las obras realizadas por los estudiantes concluyendo el día reflejaron un gran amor por el teatro!

On Friday, 17th of August, the ABSCH Drama Festival was held at Dunalastair School Valle Norte in Santiago. It was a dry and very cold early morning when students (from at least 8 other British schools) arrived for a full day of fun activities. The workshops included in the festival were: radio, physical, clown, pantomime, musical, and mask theatre. Students were divided into separate workshops with the objective to portray a specific scene from John Steinbeck`s “Of Mice and Men”. José Pedro Jeria (radio), Anton Little (musical), Luciano Zapata, and Franco Peri (clowning) enjoyed their time immensely! In general, as I took a look at each workshop, I noticed that all students were fully engaged with their instructors. This was after all, their own separate world. A world where they could choose how to express themselves in ways that only several can understand and escape from the routines that society has brought upon us. A great thanks goes to all the drama instructors who really put their heart and soul into the students (and were always kind). I can tell that they live for art. The fruit from the plays done by the students reflect that very much.
